(More customer reviews)We've made bread twice weekly since I got this unit in January. Every time it works just perfectly if
1) you press the paddles down properly before starting. However, if you notice that one side is not kneading it's worth stabbing in the general direction of the paddle with a wooden spoon handle and the paddle seats without problems.)
2) you get the water/other ingredients measurements exactly right.
3) You may not put the actual pan in water, so I found the best way to clean under the paddles after baking is using a nicely damped cloth (but not soggy wet). The little rinds of baked bread beneath the paddles softens and comes out easily after a short time.
Enjoy your baking. The bread tastes absolutely wonderful because you have the fabulous aroma of baking just before you consume it.
