If you don't want to throw the butter tub on the table, but instead have a bit of class these are lovely. It does hold enough butter for my family of three to butter several slices of bread each. If you are serving a newly herbed butter with your dinner, the clear glass allows the fresh bits to shine through. They are made from a nice, heavy glass so you don't worry about busting it when removing the lid or scooping up a dab of butter. I use one for butter and one for cream cheese for breakfast.
