I hate beige. I really do. But when I buy bowls for couples starting out, friends getting their first apartment, whatever, I buy a Mason Cash.
That's why I got over beige, at least with Mason Cash.
When I bought my first Mason Cash years ago, I bought a companion bowl, also of vintage design, with a blue exterior, and thick rim and a white interior. It chipped so long ago, I forget what happened. I have very small kitchen and a useless sink. People were not intended to cook in my kitchen. The thing is, I've banged this bowl, I've knocked it about, I've dropped it at least twice, and it's as pristine as could be. There is no chip, no crack, no dull spot anywhere.
Just as important as It's easy to use. It's thin enough that you can grab it and hold it as you whip the tar out of the butter and sugar. It's a bowl designed for real cooks, by people who understand what real cooks need.
Yet, I still hate beige. Every time I look up at this bowl on the shelf I wish it was a bauer bowl, but when I need a bowl to do some serious business--when the KichenAid is in the shop--the bauer bowls stay on the shelf and I go for my Mason Cash.
Yeah, your metal or glass bowls are doing the job, but honestly, why have a bowl you put up with when you can have a bowl you love?
